Music with History: New Testament, Greece, and Rome begins at the scene of the music of the Mycenaean culture. As the lessons progress the student will discover the role music played in the lives of the early peoples of ancient Greece, Rome, and other
early cultures. The study concludes with the role music played in worship during the time when Handel wrote The Messiah. The curriculum uses songs and a sound-off to help the student memorize many of the facts learned throughout the year. The curriculum covers most of the standards developed by the National Association for Music Education. |
